In what may wind up being a landmark case, Bay Are rap star Rappin' 4Tay has just filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against MCA Music and Warner Chappell music for breach of contract, fraud and racial discrimination.
The suit according to 4Tay's long time manager Franky J stems from 4Tay's contract being sold to another company without his knowledge or permission. Frank J noted that 4Tay was literally sold like a slave or a piece of furniture against his will. The surrounding issues of the case bring to light the music industry's failure to fulfill contracts with African American artists. They will also be focusing on the types of strategies and methods being used by Big record companies to cheat and manipulate independent African American Record companies.
Rappin' 4Tay noted that 'I've been rappin' all my life, and if them people up in that big building think I won't fight them for my music and my freedom to choose what happens to me and my family, then they ain't never listened to a 4Tay Rap.. 'I'll Be around'..'I'm gonna defend my right to choose and be treated with respect and not by the color of my skin; I've been to prison and I know first hand what freedom means.
The lawsuit was filed in California Superior court in Los Angeles.. for more info contact Frank J at 510-733-9100....
